COVID-19 Business Update and Response

Vigil Training College is committed to keeping our students, staff, and community safe. We are compliant with all current government restrictions and requirements.

PHASE 1: Face-to-Face Training Resuming on the 11th of October

We are excited to be back!

As per the guidelines issues by the NSW government, face-to-face training at Vigil Training College will resume from the 11th of October 2021. You can find these guidelines here.

We have compiled a few FAQs below to help assist with any enquiries:

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):

Q: Do I need to be vaccinated to attend face-to-face training?
A: Workers, Students & Visitors are strongly encouraged to be fully vaccinated prior to attending face-to-face training or prior to visiting us.

Q: Will I need to wear a facemask throughout my training?
A: Yes.

Q: Will I be provided with a letter advising reason for travelling?
A: Yes.

Note: Students, Staff & Visitors must comply with Vigil’s Covid-19 Business Policies and Procedures, along with the NSW government guidelines.

Previous Updates:

As of 23rd of August 2021, our face-to-face training has been postponed, in line with the government guidelines. If you have already enrolled in a course with us, we will contact you.

Q: Why has Vigil postponed face-to-face training?
A: Face-to-face training has been postponed in line with the Government’s Covid-19 restrictions. You can read more here

Q: Can I still book a course for the dates listed on the website?
A: Yes you can. The dates listed on the website have been amended to the expected start date for face-to-face training. If there are further changes to the Government guidelines, we will communicate this with you. 

Q: Why can we not move the courses to online training?
A: Due to the nature of courses taught at Vigil Training College, we are currently unable to teach these courses online. Our courses consist of practical training, along with assessments from different regulators that require the assessments to be done in-class, under supervision.

Q: Is your college still open?
A: Our college is currently closed for all students & visitors.

Business Practices: Students,  Staff & Visitors
Business Practices: Students, Visitors & Staff Face-to-face training is continuing, and various measures are in place.
These measures are:
  1. Covid Safe Check-in: Students, visitors and staff will be required to check-in every time they visit us on campus.
    All students, staff and visitors are required to wear a face mask (if you need one, we can provide this).
    Students, staff, and visitors are required to sanitise their hands upon entering and throughout the day. Plenty of sanitisers are present throughout the campus.
  2. All students, staff and visitors will be screened for symptoms, attendance at an exposure venue and contact in the last 14 days with a person known to have COVID-19.
  3. Any student, staff or visitor displaying symptoms of Covid 19 will be sent home.
  4. Training rooms and our campus is cleaned regularly.

Business Practices: Additional requirements for Staff

All staff must comply with the business practices mentioned above, as well as the following further measures:

  1. Ensure that you do not attend work, if you have any symptoms of Covid-19.
  2. Ensure that you have received your first dose or have a medical exemption, by the 30th of August (in-line with government regulations).
  3. Report any breaches of Covid 19 by other staff, students, or visitors.
  4. Remove students or visitors from the premises if they have been identified as showing symptoms of Covid-19.
