CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support, also commonly known as the Aged Care Course, is suitable for individuals who want to obtain the latest nationally recognised qualification that reflects the role of support workers who complete specialised tasks and functions in aged services; either in residential, home or community-based environments.
You can join the course any time and complete it online at your own pace. Simply follow the process below to obtain your qualification:
Student can complete this course at their own pace, meaning they can finish as quickly or as slowly as they like. However, students must complete all learning, assessments, and work placement within twelve (12) months from their enrolment date.
Additional time may be granted to complete the course. Students must speak to Vigil Support Team for assistance.
This course is delivered online only, offering students a high level of flexibility allowing them to complete this course at their own pace.

There are no formal pre-requisites for this course, however students must meet the following criteria:
Language, Literacy & Numeracy (LLN) Test:
You are not required to complete an LLN test, if you have successfully completed any of the following qualifications issued under the Australian Qualifications Framework:
You will be required to submit a verified copy of your certification, at the time of enrolment.
If you have not completed any of the above, you will be required to undertake an English Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) test, prior to the commencement of the course.
If you are unable to pass this test and our training organisation is unable to provide with the LLN support required, you will be advised to undertake an LLN foundation skills course. Full Refunds are available if you have enrolled into the course and failed to meet the LLN requirements.

Upon successful completion of all the Eighteen (18) units, listed below, and fulfilling the requirements of work placement, you will be awarded with the qualification CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support.
The 18 units have been clustered into 10 clusters.
Receiving your certificate
You will receive your certificate within 10 business days from the date of submission of your work placement workbook and your final assessment task for this course.
Has CHC43015 - Certificate IV in Ageing Support replaced Certificate IV in Aged Care?
Yes, this course replaces CHC40108 - Certificate IV in Aged Care and CHC40212 - Certificate IV in Home and Community Care. You can check the superseded status on Training.gov here.
A total of 120 Hours of mandatory industry work placement is required to be completed at the end of course.
Generally, you will be responsible for finding a Vocational Placement provider. However, you may be supported by the Vocational Placement Coordinator in finding one. The Training Manager and Work Placement Co-ordinator will discuss the best options for placement with every student to find a location and timing that suits the student.
Where the student is already working in an appropriate Aged Care Facility, it is recommended that this facility would be best for gathering the workplace evidence for the units across the identified 120 hours. There may be some flexibility in the timing of workplace evidence collected for these existing workers who have employer support for this course.

All students entering a workplace facility in the aged care industry, must have:
Student may need to get the manual handling certificate depending on their workplace requirements.
RPL means we will recognise your prior training and you will not need to repeat training you have already completed.
If you have skills and knowledge from prior education, work experiences, family and community experience that relates to your training, you may seek recognition of prior learning (RPL). If you believe you may be eligible for RPL, please contact our team prior to enrolment and we will support you in completing an RPL application, including gathering of required evidence.
