HLTAID003 Provide First Aid

Course is open for anyone working in any kind of industry responsible for providing safe workplace to meet the obligations in case of accident or injury e.g. persons working in hospitality, construction, healthcare, job sites, offices, security and for those who want to gain knowledge and learn these lifesaving skills

Prerequisites for Course

There is no prerequisite for this unit, however, training packages describe the candidates must have Foundation Skills (language, literacy and numeracy) that are essential to perform oral communication in order to make an accurate verbal report to emergency response services and workplace supervisor.

We only offer Training to participants over the age of 18 years

Course outcome

On successful completion of this training program, a Statement of Attainment in HLTAID003 Provide First Aid will be issued to the participants.

Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines indicate that a (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation) CPR qualification should be renewed every 12 months and that a First Aid qualification should be renewed every 3 years

Course Duration & Delivery Method

2 days (Total of at least fifteen hours: Comprising 1 day (almost 6 – 8 hours) self-study and pre-assessment; and Day-2 (Eight Hours) classroom-based practical training, theory and practical assessment).

  • Respond to an emergency situation
  • Apply appropriate first aid procedures
  • Communicate details of the incident
  • Evaluate the incident and own performance

Assessment & Course Procedure

First aid course requires pre-study course by all the participants. The students can choose one of the two options to complete the pre-study course.

  1. Paper-based workbook – this option is suitable for those students who do not have access to a computer or are not comfortable to use the computer.

The students who prefer paper-based workbook and manual can enrol into the course, once enrolled students can receive their workbook and manual through post or can pick from our office; or

The student can receive the manual and workbook through email, print it, complete and bring on the day of classroom based training. The workbook has 56 multiple choice and true and false questions.

  1. E-book – This option is suitable for students who have access to and are comfortable in use of the computer.

Once you enrolled and paid, you will receive an email with your login and password which will give you access to the e-book, you will be able to complete your pre=study workbook online.

Once completed students will be able to print their certificate and will need to bring on the day of classroom based training.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Candidates seeking the RPL of this course please see details into the Students Handbook about the RPL process.

Dress Code

Due to nature of course with a plenty of practical exercises the participants are advised to wear casual comfortable attire. Skirts or dresses are not considered appropriate

NOTE: STUDENTS WITHOUT COMPLETED WORK-BOOK WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO ATTEND THE PRACTICAL TRAINING
