Why do I need CPR Certificate?
This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines.
The course is open to anyone working in any kind of industry responsible for providing a safe workplace to meet the obligations in case of accident or injury e.g. persons working in hospitality, construction, healthcare, childcare, job sites, offices, security and for those who want to gain knowledge and learn these lifesaving skills.
CPR training required to be refreshed annually. The course can be done to as a standalone unit or as a Refresher Training.
What are prerequisites for CPR course?
There are no prerequisites for this unit, however, training packages describe the candidates must have Foundation Skills (language, literacy and numeracy) that are essential to perform oral communication in order to make an accurate verbal report to emergency response services and workplace supervisor.
We only offer Training to participants over the age of 18 years
What will I achieve after CPR course?
On successful completion of this training program, a Statement of Attainment in HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation will be issued to the participants.
What is the duration of the CPR training course?
2-3 hours of self-study (no self-study is required for students doing CPR refresher training) and pre-assessment; and 3 – 3.5 hours of classroom based practical training, theory and practical assessment.
NOTE: There is no pre-study required. Students attending CPR refresher course are advised to bring their current first aid or CPR certificate.

What will be assessment methods and procedure?
Students can complete this course as Stand-alone unit or as a Refresher course. A Refresher Course does not require pre-study.
Students completing CPR training course as the Standalone unit has two options to complete the pre-study.
The students can choose one of the two options to complete the pre-study course.
Paper-based workbook- this option is suitable for those students who do not have access to a computer or are not comfortable to use a computer.
The students who prefer paper-based workbook and manual can enrol into the course, once enrolled students can receive their workbook and manual through post or can pick from our office; or
The student can receive the manual and workbook through email, print it, complete and bring on the day of classroom based training. The workbook has 28 multiple choice and true and false questions.
E-book – This option is suitable for students who have access to and are comfortable in use of the computer.
Once you enrolled and paid, you will receive an email with your login and password which will give you access to the e-book, you will be able to complete your pre=study workbook online.
Once completed students will be able to print their certificate and will need to bring on the day of classroom based training.
What are qualification pathways after CPR course?
Participants seeking further training options to enhance their skill set such as HLTAID007 Provide advanced resuscitation or may undertake a range of qualifications from the HLT Health Training Package.
What do I need to wear on the day of practical training?
Due to nature of course with a plenty of practical exercises the participants are advised to wear casual comfortable attire. Skirts or dresses are not considered appropriate
